Aleigh is One Month Old!

Oh my goodness... look at the difference a month makes... Our little angel is growing up!

3 days old

1 month old

This month has gone by so fast, it feels like just yesterday that Aleigh was born. Up until the past few days Aleigh has only smiled in her sleep or when she is pooping but now she will smile at us. It seems to only be when we do not have the camera around but we caught a quick smile last night. She is growing so fast, just two weeks ago she was too long for newborn clothes but 3 month clothes were huge on her. Over the past few days it seems like she is filling out all of her 3 month clothes. We are both definitely ready for spring... we can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can take walks around the neighborhood in the stroller.

What a cutie!

Family Photos

Today we made the trek to Indianapolis to take our first family picture. Aleigh stayed asleep for most of the photo shoot until the very end and she got a little cranky. Here are a few of our favorites...

2 Weeks Old!

Aleigh was 2 weeks old yesterday and oh my gosh she changes so much everyday! She is now back over her birth weight and has grown 1 inch - 9 lbs 1 oz and 22 inches long. She is in the 97th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. Unfortunately I only have 4 more weeks at home with her and then I have to go back to work. Leaving her at day care will be so hard! We just love her to pieces and are enjoying every minute with our little angel.

10 Days Old!

Little Aleigh is 10 days old today and boy has it been a crazy 10 days! The first couple days of her life were great until mom got mastitis in both breasts and she couldn't nurse anymore. Thank goodness the antibiotic worked quickly and the mastitis has cleared up. Aleigh lost a little more than 10% of her birth weight and the doctors were getting worried so we had to supplement formula with the breast milk. She is gaining a few ounces everyday and we hope to have her back to birth weight by her 2 week check up. Being sick and caring for a newborn is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do. If it wasn't for my mom being here and being a HUGE help, I would have given up on the breastfeeding. Aren't Moms wonderful! Here are a few pictures of Aleigh when she was one week old. She is the most precious thing ever!!
